Find Out Where To Discover This Kindle 3G Device

By Drew Patter

Since 2007, when Amazon first introduced the Kindle to the consumers, every model that came out has been one improvement after the other. The enhancements are not only focused on the appearance but on the various features as well. By the time the Kindle 2 was released in 2009, a lot of people were already interested in getting the Kindle best price that they could find in the market. The following year, Amazon announced the release of the third generation Kindle to the reading public. Even though it has only been a year since the world got acquainted with the Kindle 2, there are a few significant changes in the features and the dimensions of the new Kindle.

Appearance-wise, the Kindle 2 is slightly larger and heavier than the third generation Kindle. Some of the changes in the dimensions are quite evident, while others are less obvious. Take for instance the length and width measurements of both devices. The Kindle 2 measures at 8 x 5.3 inches, while the newer version is just around 7.5 x 4.8 inches; a lot closer to the size of an actual paperback pocketbook.

When it comes to the thickness of both devices, the Kindle 3 is a bit slimmer at only 0.335 inches thick, compared to the Kindle 2's 0.36 inches. Weight-wise, the new Kindle is a few ounces lighter, weighting in at 8.5 ounces; whereas the previous model weighs in at around 10.2 ounces. However, although the Kindle 2 is quite larger than the most recent model, they both have exactly the same screen display sizes, which measures at 6 inches.

Another major disparity between the two models is the screen contrast. Although the Kindle 2 already has an impressive screen contrast, with its high resolution screen display, the E Ink or electronic Ink technology is actually what makes the device easy to read even under the glaring sun. With the third generation Kindle, however, Amazon.com claims that the screen contrast has improved by fifty percent more than the previous Kindle. This is due to the more advanced "E Ink Pearl Technology" that is featured in the device, which provides clearer texts and sharper images.

For those of you who own a huge collection of eBooks, the new Kindle has essentially doubled the storage capacity of the Kindle 2, which only had around two gigabytes of internal memory. The third generation Kindle can store up to 3,500 books, while the Kindle 2 can only hold about 1,500. This fact alone gets people lining up to get the Kindle best price available in the market. Individuals who owned the previous model are thinking of getting the new Kindle as well.

Lastly, there are experimental features that can be found with the Kindle 2 that are available in the Kindle 3 as well, like the ability to play MP3 music, a simple built-in web browser, a conversion tool for PDF documents, and the text-to-speech feature. The difference of course is that the PDF document conversion is more improved and the Web browser is now Web-kit based, which is faster than the older version. With all of these features incorporated in one solid device, the competitors better start thinking of new concepts to top Amazon's new Kindle.
