Amazon's Kindle 3 Price Offerings

By Lance Kinn

For a Kindle owner, getting their hands on the latest Kindle from Amazon is very enticing, especially with the latest features that come with the third generation Kindle. In addition, there are parents with kids who are going off to college and they want to give them a good going away present. Well, there is nothing better than a Kindle eBook reader as a present for students, especially now that Amazon's Kindle best price offers are more affordable than ever before. As a matter of fact, from the original price of $258, the third generation Kindle is now down to only $139. You were asking for the best deal? Well, you have it.

If you ask your son what kind of present he wants before going off to college, he would probably ask for a car. Well, who wouldn't? But for those of us who are mere consumers, the Kindle 3 would be the next best thing. If you already own the original Kindle or the Kindle 2, then you may already be itching to trade-in your current Kindle for the latest third generation Kindle, considering the not-to-be-missed new features that this new model offers. Plus, the affordability does not hurt as well.

Amazon actually released two versions of their latest Kindle. The Kindle Wi-Fi provides Wi-Fi connectivity, which allows the user to connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi networks, private or public. This version is essentially cheaper than the other version, which is the Kindle 3G. The Kindle 3G, which is the real successor of the Kindle 2, allows you to connect to any 3G network for free with its built-in 3G technology. With this version, you basically have Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.

When looking for a Kindle best price without sacrificing quality, then you need to look at the two types of retailers: the conventional brick and mortar retailers and the online retailers. Brick and mortar retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and so on, all carry Amazon's Kindle eBook reader, as well as other Kindle accessories. The only thing that stores such as these have that online shops do not, is the ability to allow the potential buyers to touch and see the product that they are selling. For most customers, the ability to carefully inspect what you are buying is essential. However, with all the overhead expenses that these retailers are paying, I doubt you will find the best price for a Kindle in such manner.

Shopping for the latest Kindle online is perhaps the best way to go. This is where you will most likely find the best deals around. However, to make sure that you get the best deal possible, you need to visit a few online shops just to make sure that you have ample choices when you start comparing deals and prices. There are online stores that even offer free shipping when your purchase reaches a certain amount, especially during a high shopper turnout season. But among these online shops, Amazon's Kindle store still has the best choices when it comes to the Kindle models and accessories. They even have one of the most extensive collection of eBooks that will surely enhance your experience with your new Kindle.

The Kindle 3 is obviously the perfect present for anyone who loves to read. For students, the Kindle can be very beneficial as it can help them in a variety of ways, aside from rekindling their interest in modern literature.
